1. Introduction
Welcome to Catalyst Chemistry! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our online course (also known as our platform), including any content, functionality, and services offered on or through the course (“Course”) (“platform”). By purchasing or accessing the Course, Textbook and/or Chemistry Coaching services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not access or use the Course.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By enrolling in the Course, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Course on behalf of an organization, you agree to these Terms on behalf of that organization.
3. Course Access and Enrollment
To enroll in the Course, you must create an account with accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. Sharing of account information, as outlined in the user conduct policy, is strictly prohibited. The website is equipped to detect such activities, and any violation will result in immediate removal from the course without a refund.
4. Newsletter
By subscribing to Catalyst Chemistry’s newsletter, you agree to our Terms of Service. Intellectual Property: All materials provided through this newsletter, including but not limited to notes, study guides, practice problems, and other educational resources, are the intellectual property of Catalyst Chemistry. Subscribers are granted a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use these materials for personal study purposes only. Redistribution, sharing, resale, or any other unauthorized use of these materials without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.
5. Textbook
The textbook is sold “as is” without any warranties or guarantees. By purchasing the textbook, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and accepted the content and condition of the book. Catalyst Chemistry is not liable for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies within the textbook. While we strive to ensure the highest quality, we cannot be held responsible for any issues that may arise from its use.
Periodic updates and modifications may be made to the textbook to improve content and accuracy; however, ownership of an existing textbook does not entitle the purchaser to receive new versions or updates free of charge. Each new version will be sold separately.
All textbook sales are final, and we do not offer refunds or exchanges once the purchase has been completed. However, under exceptional circumstances, a refund may be granted if the purchaser contacts Catalyst Chemistry within 7 days of delivery and returns the textbook in its original condition.
The textbook is intended for personal use only, and any distribution, reproduction, or resale of the textbook without explicit permission from Catalyst Chemistry is strictly prohibited. By purchasing the textbook, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please refrain from purchasing the textbook.
6. Chemistry Coaching
Our chemistry coaching services at Catalyst Chemistry are designed to provide personalized support and guidance to help you succeed in Organic Chemistry (OChem). By engaging in our coaching services, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
Service Description: Our coaching services combine tutoring with personalized coaching to assist you in understanding OChem concepts, improving study techniques, and developing effective exam strategies.
Payment and Fees: Coaching fees are outlined during registration or consultation. Payment is required in full prior to the commencement of coaching sessions. We accept payment via [Payment methods accepted].
Scheduling and Cancellations: Coaching sessions are scheduled based on mutual availability. If you need to reschedule or cancel a session, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to provide timely notice may result in forfeiture of that session.
Intellectual Property: All coaching materials and resources provided by Catalyst Chemistry are for personal use only. Distribution, reproduction, or resale of these materials without explicit permission is prohibited.
Our commitment extends beyond sessions: we provide continuous support to address your questions and concerns outside of tutoring hours. Whether it’s through additional resources or clarifications via email, we’re dedicated to your success.
Liability: While we strive to provide accurate and effective coaching, Catalyst Chemistry is not liable for any outcomes resulting from coaching sessions, including academic performance or exam results.
Confidentiality: Your privacy and confidentiality are important to us. Any personal information shared during coaching sessions will be kept confidential, except where required by law.
7. Payments and Refunds
Payment Methods: We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards. All payments must be made in full at the time of purchase. For installment plans, payments must be completed according to the schedule outlined in the payment plan. For instance, a payment plan of $20 per month for 2 months requires payments of $20 to be made in each of those two months to secure 6 months’ access to the course.
Pricing: The price of the Course is as indicated on the purchase page. Prices are subject to change, but any changes will not affect purchases already completed.
Refund Policy: The Course is non-refundable. However, we understand that certain circumstances may arise. If you encounter issues that prevents you from accessing the Course, please contact us at cooper@catalystchemistry.net within 72 hours of purchase, and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis. Refunds, if granted, will be processed within a reasonable timeframe. Please note that refunds will not be granted if course materials have been downloaded.
Pre-Order Terms For July 22nd, 2024: Pre-order purchases are subject to the same payment and refund terms. Pre-ordered Organic Chemistry 1 courses will be available for purchase starting on July 22nd. However, Organic Chemistry 1 courses purchased between July 22nd, 2024, and August 4th, 2024, will only be granted full access upon the official launch date of August 5th, 2024.
8. Content and License
The Course includes videos, practice problems, handwritten notes, study guides, and other materials (“Course Materials”). Catalyst Chemistry grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Course Materials for your personal, educational purposes only. You may not distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the Course Materials without our express written consent.
Access Duration: Upon purchase, you will have access to the Course and Course Materials for a period of 6 months. After this period, access will be terminated unless renewed by purchasing an extension.
9. User Conduct
You agree to use the Course and related communities (e.g., Slack channel) in a manner that is lawful, respectful, and considerate of others. You may not:
Share your login credentials with others.
Distribute Course Materials without permission.
Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Course or other users’ enjoyment of the Course including the Slack Channel
Indications of academic misconduct include, but are not limited to, the sharing of graded materials such as exams or homework in the Slack channel.
Failure to comply with the user conduct will result in immediate course termination, and terminated users will not be eligible for a refund.
10. Privacy Policy
We collect, use, and protect your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be found here. By using the Course, you consent to our collection and use of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Course is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties or representations regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the Course Materials. Your use of the Course is at your own risk. Catalyst Chemistry is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Course, including but not limited to indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages. If additional materials are added to the course after your enrollment period, (post enrollment) you will not be eligible for a refund or granted access to the newly added materials.
12. Modification of Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the Course. Your continued use of the Course after any changes to the Terms constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Course will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Columbus, Ohio, unless it is deemed unreasonable for the user. In such cases, disputes will be resolved in the appropriate court within the user’s state of residence.
